According to UACE examination results released yesterday by Minister for education and sports Janet Kataha Museveni at State House-Nakasero, three candidates at Fortportal secondary school scored 20 points each.

The three candidates include; Isingoma David who scored 20 points in BCM/ICT, Akora Daniel in PEntM/ICT,and Kansiime Dorothy in HEL/SM.

Mr. Reagan Katerega, the Headteacher, Fortportal SS, has attributed the outstanding performance to entire staff, Directors, parents and students for the work done.

The 2024 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education exams results showed that the overall performance for candidates has dropped, compared to 2023. Whereas in 2023, 99.2% of the candidates who sat for the S.6 exams passed, in 2024, the performance dropped to 98.85%.
The results further showed that 54,338 representing 38.6% passed with three principal passes in 2024, lower than the 52, 630 representing 48.1% in 2023 while 92,273(65.5%) passed with two principal passes in 2024, lower than the 80,816(73.8%) in 2023. Also, the number of candidates who obtained one principal pass was 121, 506 representing 98.8% lower than the 108, 621( 99.2%) in 2023.
Girls outshine boys
The results showed that more girls( 26928) indicating 43.7% passed with three principal passes, more than their male counterparts at 34.6%.
The number of girls who attained two principal passes was 43,890( 71.2%), higher than the 48,383 representing 61.1% of the boys.
