A joint operation involving the army, police, and other security agencies took place on March 31, 2025, around 11:00 p.m. in Kitukutwe Zone, Kidumpuli Ghetto, and Bulindo Zone, Katuli Ghetto.
The Kampala Metropolitan spokeserson, Patrick Onyango said the operation targeted suspects involved in robberies, burglaries, and related crimes.
As a result, 37 suspects were arrested, and items including opium and mealer were recovered. The suspects were taken to Kira Division Police and charged with possession of narcotic drugs.
In a separate operation, Wandegeya territorial police carried out an intelligence-led raid in Kagugube Parish and its surrounding areas on the same night at around 8:20 p.m.
This operation was designed to eliminate dark spots and arrest criminals in the region. A total of 23 suspects were apprehended, charged with possession of dangerous weapons, and detained at Wandegeya Police Station.
The operation was conducted with professionalism and integrity, with no complaints filed. Ongoing intelligence efforts are aimed at gathering more information to apprehend further criminals, with the goal of creating a crime-free society.
