MOROTO DISTRICT: At the age of 44 years, Grace Pulkol Adams, daughter to former External Security Organisation (ESO) Director-General David Pulkol had built a distinguished career in healthcare, earning an MBA in Health Management Systems and working in Midland, Texas.
Grace also known as author, entrepreneur, and humanitarian died on February 9, 2025, in the United States due to Cardiac Arrest.
Beyond her medical career, Grace had written children’s storybooks which were selling on platforms like Amazon and founded a transport company.
This morning of March 15, 2025, hundreds of mourners gathered at Hon. Pulkol’s ancestral home in Moroto district, Karamoja sub region to bid farewell to a remarkable life nipped in the bud.
Among the mourners, was the Vice president Maj. (Rtd) Jessica Alupo who represented President Yoweri Museveni at the final send-off of a life characterized by achievements.
President Museveni said the death of Grace, has robbed Hon. Pulkol’s family of a precious individual who has died in the prime of her life.
“She still had a contribution to make, in the world. She will be remembered for her humanitarian work, through which she extended assistance to the less advantaged, in society,” president Museveni said.
On behalf of the NRM Party and his own behalf, the president extended heartfelt sympathies, prayers and thoughts to the family during this moment of loss and grief.
“I pray that the Almighty God grants you the fortitude and courage to go through this trying moment,” he said.
Grace’s father thanked president Museveni, Gen. Salim Saleh, the vice president, clergy, politicians and the general public for turning up in big numbers to see off his daughter.
He expressed the family’s profound sorrow, stating that they were committed to keeping Grace’s legacy and memory alive.
Pulkol also announced plans to continue supporting Moving on to Joy, an initiative started by Grace to promote kindness and resilience in the face of adversity.
Dr. Peter Teko Lokeris the Minister for Karamoja Affairs described Grace as a woman of deep faith and kindness. “Although she is gone, Grace’s legacy remains. She was known for her humility and generosity,” he noted.
Woman MP Moroto district Stellah Atyang said Grace always found time for loved ones despite her demanding schedule and thanked God for a life well lived.
She said Grace was a woman of hope. “It is sad that you have lost her at a very young age,” Atyang said while calling upon mourners to emulate her legacy.
