The Uganda Police Force has effectively prevented a robbery attempt involving UGX 500 million.
According to the force’s spokesperson, Rusoke Kituuma, the successful operation was made possible through actionable intelligence.
“In an intelligence-led operation police deployed it’s officers in key locations, resulting in the interception of suspects traveling on motorcycles,” he added.
The suspects were reported to have followed their target from Acacia Mall with the intention of stealing a cash bag.
However, they were intercepted at multiple locations, including Total Acacia and Tagore Road.
Kituuma stated that six individuals were apprehended, and law enforcement recovered two motorcycles, two pangas, and pepper spray.
He emphasized that investigations into the incident are still in progress.
