The Makerere University convocation has recognised and awarded Bagoole Abdul Latif Umar, who graduated with a first-class degree of Bachelor of Leisure and Hospitality Management from the Makerere University Business School with 1m, appreciating his outstanding performance.
The development happened during the ongoing 75th graduation ceremony at Makerere University, where MUBS featured a total of 5,551, among them 3,319 females and 2,232 males.
A total of 246 students scored first-class degrees from MUBS, with 7 PhDs among them, 3 females and 4 males, respectively.
Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe the vice chancellor Makerere University congratulated Bagoole for the achievement and wished him a bright academic future as he moves out into the world of work.
Nawangwe also separately congratulated the MUBS principal, Prof. Moses Muhwezi, on his appointment as the second principal of MUBS, saying he will work with him for the good of the two-sister institutions of higher learning.
He noted that Makerere has opened up its doors for MUBS students who wish to pursue different courses, such as benefitting from the 5bn innovation research fund [IRF], among others, where they can visit and learn more about many issues of their interest.
