The traffic police in Nakasongola district are currently conducting an investigation into a fatal accident that took place on January 21, 2025, at approximately 18:08 hours in Bujaabe village, Nakitoma subcounty.
This tragic incident resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left twelve others injured.
One male adult, whose identity has yet to be confirmed, was the driver of an Isuzu Elf and died at the scene.
Additionally, a young child who was a passenger in a Toyota Hiace succumbed to injuries upon arrival at Kyiryandongo Hospital.
As of now, the identities of all involved parties remain unknown.
According to Sam Twiineamazima, the spokesperson for the Savannah policing area, the incident involved three vehicles: a white Isuzu Elf with registration number UBP 557B, whose driver died on the spot; a Nile Star Company Isuzu bus with registration number UBD 215R; and a white Toyota Hiace with registration number UBR 783N.
Preliminary reports suggest that the bus, which was following the Toyota Hiace en route to Gulu, experienced a front tire which went off hitting the Toyota Hiace, leading to a loss of control and a subsequent head-on collision with the Isuzu Elf, which was traveling towards Kampala.

“Upon police receiving information from the reporter they swiftly responded to the scene documented it, all victims were rushed to Kyinyogoga Hospital for treatment and the deceased were conveyed to Kyinyogoga mortuary for postmortem examination and all Vehicles were towed to Nakitoma police station pending IOV inspection,” he added.
12-year-old dies i a 100-meter deep well
On January 21, 2025, a tragic incident occurred in Kampala, resulting in the death of a 12-year-old girl named Bossa Kagimu, who fell into a deep well.
The Police Fire and Rescue Services promptly responded to a distress call from the Luwafu Abbas zone, where it was reported that Bossa had fallen into a well measuring 100 meters in but regrettably, she did not survive the fall.
A male security guard who endeavored to save her was successfully rescued and is currently receiving treatment at Kirudu Referral Hospital.
