Unilever Uganda, through its iconic nutritious seasoning brand Royco has launched “Share Goodness” campaign, a heartfelt initiative dedicated to enhancing the Ramadan dining experience for Muslim communities across Uganda.
This initiative launched at Masjid Mbogo Mosque in Kawempe, is rooted in the spirit of generosity and nourishment, ensuring that families and communities come together to enjoy memorable Iftar meals during this sacred season.
Throughout the holy month of Ramadan, Royco will serve Iftar meals at 25 mosques nationwide, fostering community spirit and promoting the values of sharing and kindness that define this season. In addition to serving meals, the initiative will also feature donation drives and activations at select supermarkets, allowing Ugandans to contribute towards supporting those in need.
Speaking at the launch event, Grace Nandawula, Head of Customer and Strategy Planning at Unilever Uganda, emphasized the importance of generosity during Ramadan and Royco’s commitment to enriching lives through nutrition and community engagement.
“Ramadan is a time of reflection, devotion, and sharing. With the ‘Share Goodness’ campaign, Royco is honored to play a part in turning regular meals into memorable moments for families across Uganda,” she said.
“Royco plays a crucial role in enhancing every meal by adding rich flavour, taste, and thickness. During the most important meals of the day—Dakau and Iftar—don’t forget to add Royco to every dish. Its unique blend of spices transforms ordinary meals into extraordinary culinary experiences, making every bite more enjoyable and memorable,” She reiterated.
The ‘Share Goodness’ campaign will not only provide nutritious meals but will also engage the broader community through:
Donation bins at 30 select supermarkets where shoppers can donate food items, which will be collected weekly and distributed to selected mosques.
QR codes in-store, enabling shoppers to scan, select a mosque of their choice, and send mobile money contributions.
Ramadan is a time of deep spiritual connection, and by supporting communities with nourishing meals, Royco is reinforcing its role in making food not just a necessity, but a source of joy and unity. Through this campaign, Unilever Uganda continues its mission of improving nutrition and fostering a culture of generosity.

During the launch, The deputy supreme Imam at Kawempe- Mbogo mosque, Sheikh Muhamud Sserwanga, said that fasting is important during the Holly month of Ramadan as Muslims believe it allows them to devote themselves to their faith and come closer to Allah.
He asked Muslims to follow behaviours and rules during the holly month of ramadan, such as abstain from food and drink for a certain period of time, committing sins, among other.
