The NRM aspirant for Kawempe North, Faridah Nambi has unveiled a list of programmes she plans to implement for her constituents if elected to parliament.
Nambi said her manifesto prioritizes lobbying funds to empower women and youths who she says are suffering most due to the prevailing economic hardships as a result of lack of jobs.
“I want to help my people to access money through government programs to improve their incomes because I have been walking through various zones and I have witnessed a lot of challenges like poverty, hips of garbage in residential areas and many children loitering during school days,” Nambi said.
Nambi flanked by the NRM’s Head of Mobilization, Rosemary Seninde and her supporters spent the better part of the day walking through Kanyanya quarters, Elisa, Kisalosalo, Nsooba and Katale zones in Kyebando ward as they wooed voters.
She also expressed readiness to offer school bursaries to some unprivileged children, work with other leaders to clean trenches, collect garbage and identify and support young talents in various sports disciplines.
Seninde urged voters to allow an NRM candidate to represent them in Parliament.
“I am very sure things will change. The over 20 years of oppositions in charge of this area have not yielded anything positive because the Members of Parliament keep opposing the government instead of cooperating to cause change among the residents,” Seninde said.
She assured residents that Nambi will be their link to the government. “The SEED Secondary Schools, Hospitals, and money are all with the NRM leadership under President Museveni,” Seninde said.
