Authorities in Kireka are probing a suspected murder that took place this morning near Agenda Bridge in Kamuli A’ Zone, Kireka ward, within the Namugongo division of Wakiso district.
A woman, believed to be around 30 years old, was discovered deceased by the roadside, concealed among some shrubs.
The spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan policing area, Patrick Oyango, noted in a statement issued today (September 29, 2024) that the deceased’s identity remains unknown.
He said a team from the Kireka police station promptly arrived at the scene to recover the body, which has since been transported to Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Initial investigations indicate that the victim may have suffered a blow from a blunt object while out jogging, as suggested by the tracksuit she was wearing.
Onyango said the police are actively seeking further details regarding this incident.
