NEW YEAR: As Uganda gets ready for the national elections in 2026, Jacinto Kibuuka, the presiding bishop of the Evangelical Orthodox Church in Uganda, urges courage, faith, and solidarity.
In a prophetic message, Bishop Jacinto Kibuuka exhorted Ugandans to maintain their courage and strength in the face of the nation’s difficulties, particularly as the general elections in 2026 approach.
The Bishop underlined the value of putting one’s faith in God for protection and direction during this crucial time while speaking at the Mamre Prayer Centre’s New Year celebrations in Janda, Namugongo, Kira Municipality, Wakiso district.
The festivities, which included praise, worship, fireworks, and prayers for healing and deliverance, drew a sizable throng.
Using quotes from Joshua 1:16–21 and Proverbs 3:5–6, Bishop Kibuuka urged all Ugandans, especially those vying for political office, to take up the mantle with strength and courage, trusting in God’s wisdom and provision. “Do not fear or be intimidated,” he said, “for God is with you. Let those who aim for political leadership move forward with confidence, knowing that God will guide them to victory.” The Bishop also urged Ugandans to avoid hostility and violence, emphasising that politics should not divide the country. Even when faced with obstacles or setbacks, he called for peaceful and respectful interactions.
Bishop Kibuuka characterised 2025 as a year of divine grace, strength, restoration, and victory, where Ugandans will succeed under God’s direction. He encouraged the believers that supernatural things will come from God’s presence.”2025 will be a year filled with blessings, optimism, and favour. He ended by encouraging the crowd to have more faith and courage for the trip ahead by saying, “God will be with you and will help you win.”
