Blue Crane Communications (BCC), a fast-growing Ugandan internet service provider and IT solutions company, has been awarded three key International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certifications:
● ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems
● ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management Systems
● ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems
These certifications reflect BCC’s ongoing commitment to delivering unparalleled quality, sustainability, and safety services while demonstrating the company’s adherence to international best practices. They also underscore the continued growth of Uganda’s tech industry.
The Quality Management certification confirms that BCC will maintain a system ensuring its products meet customer requirements and regulatory standards. The Environmental Management certification underscores BCC’s commitment to sustainability and environmental care, assuring customers that the company is dedicated to minimizing its environmental footprint in line with growing concerns about corporate responsibility. Additionally, the Occupational Health & Safety certification guarantees a safe working environment for employees and the well-being of customers’ projects.
Susan Byaleero, the ISO lead implementor at Blue Crane Communications highlights that these certifications are a strategic move aimed at building deeper client trust, streamlining operations, and positioning the company as a global leader in the industry.
“The certification process took a rigorous six months, involving a comprehensive evaluation of BCC’s operations. The focus was on process improvement, waste reduction, and employee safety. This effort involved a cross-functional team, external consultants, and significant investments in training and system upgrades, leading to process standardization, improved waste management, and enhanced safety protocols,” Byaleero explained.
Ali Kisekka, from the Marketing & Communications team at BCC also noted, “Clients can expect improved service reliability, faster project turnaround times, and greater confidence in BCC’s commitment to sustainability and safety. ISO standards ensure high-quality deliverables and efficient project management.”
These certifications open doors to new partnerships with international clients and participation in global tenders, particularly in sectors like telecommunications, manufacturing, and government projects—where compliance with international standards is essential.
Blue Crane Communications is poised to lead the way in Uganda and beyond, continuing to demonstrate its commitment to excellence and driving the growth of Uganda’s tech sector.
