Businessman who is also the Uganda’s first billionaire Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia received a Lifetime Achievers award thanks to the organizers of the 10th anniversary of the Indian Business Forum held in Kampala.
Dr. Sudhir was recognized for his outstanding performance and contribution to the business sector. In his remarks, Dr. Sudhir commended the organizers for recognizing his outstanding contribution.
Dr. Sudhir used the same platform in a special way to send condolences to Uganda and the world for the death of Aga Khan, the spiritual head of the Ismailia Muslim community who owned several businesses in Uganda.
While officiating at the ceremony, the Deputy speaker Thomas Tayebwa applauded Dr. Sudhir and the Indian community for their remarkable achievements and outstanding contribution to the growth of Uganda’s economy.
At the same ceremony, Evelyn Anite, State minister for Finance in charge of investment and privatization, urged Ugandans to emulate the Indian business community and in a similar vein extended her condolence for the death of Aga Khan.
During the ceremony, many Companies were awarded including the Ruparelia group.
