Former Deputy Resident City Commissioner Herbert Anderson Burora has announced his candidacy for elective office in the upcoming 2026 general elections.
Using his X platform (formerly Twitter), Burora announced his intention to enter elective politics, although he did not specify which position he aims to pursue or the areas he intends to represent.

Rumor has it that the former RCC is widely believed to be targeting one of the constituencies within Rubaga Division.
Burora recently served as the Deputy Resident City Commissioner for Rubaga and Nakawa Divisions in Kampala, but he was suspended from that position after engaging in a verbal conflict with the government officials.
After his suspension from office in March, Burora was arrested in June due to his conduct on social media, specifically targeting government officials, including the Speaker of Parliament.
He was charged with hate speech and disseminating malicious information against Speaker Anita Among. After a month on remand, he was released on bail in July.
Burora emerged on the scene through his activism with the Jobless Brotherhood, a group known for its bold protests, including the notorious incident of dropping piglets during the 9th Parliament.
