The Ministry of Internal Affair enforcement team together with the police have apprehended 33 foreign nationals staying in the country illegally.
This follows operations carried out in Mubende Town on April 16, 2025 along the Kakumiro FortPortal road and Kitgum Municipality on April 15, 2025.
Those arrested in Mubende consist of six Chinese nationals, three Congolese, two Pakistanis, two Kenyans, three Tanzanians, and one Indian.
Another operation was carried out on April 15, 2025 in Kitgum Municipality, resulting in the apprehension of 16 foreign nationals that included two Egyptians, one Indian, two Germans, and five Americans among others.
All these were found without the necessary immigration documents.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, all the arrested individuals are currently undergoing processing for prosecution. The ministry noted that all foreign nationals must ensure they legalize their stay by applying online at http://visas.immigration.go.ug
