Nasser Nduhukire, commonly known as Don Nasser, a Kampala socialite famous for his extravagant lifestyle and passion for luxury cars, has been remanded on charges of child trafficking and defilement.
Last week, Don Nasser was arrest in Kenya, where he was said to be hiding following the incident.
On Monday, September 23, 2024, Nasser was presented before the Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court., where two charges of aggravated trafficking and defilement were brought against him.
Prosecution alleges that between May 23, 2024, and May 27, 2024, between Acacia Avenue, Tagore apartments along Mawanda Road, and Kito Zone, Kira Municipality, Don Nasser and his accomplice Promise Gatete by means of fraud, transported a 16-year-old girl for purposes of sexual exploitation.
The two denied the charges but were remanded to Luzira prison, waiting for an appearance before the High Court for trial because the cases of aggravated human trafficking are capital offenses.
During the proceedings on Monday, Promise Ateete, 19, who is also accused alongside Don Nasser, appeared in court for a mention of the case, as he had previously been charged and released on bail. However, the trial magistrate revoked his bail and remanded him along with Nasser until October 8, when they are scheduled to reappear in court.
