The youth of Kawempe division have appreciated the NRM Government for bringing closer to them key economic empowerment projects which have enabled them to overcome poverty among their respective communities.
They singled out among others the state house sponsored project of the presidential initiative on skilling the girl/boy child ( PISGBC) which they claim has effectively transformed their lives for the better.
They made the observations at the Mulago Skilling Centre in Kawempe division during the showcasing event of student’s work covered within the last six months of a vocational training session.
The chief guest at the colorful event was the NRM party secretariat director of mobilization Hon.Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde who urged the students and the wider community of Kawempe to return president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni back into state house during the forthcoming 2026 presidential elections given the great achievements his government has registered.
‘With all these positive developments registered under the NRM administration with president Museveni being at centre of it all we request that you consider returning him back as your next president come 2026 general elections’ noted Seninde.
The RDC Mbarara district hajjati Aminah Lukanga who is aspiring to become woman MP for Kaampala said ” i have all the credentials to ensure that i lobbies the government in fixing the infrastructure projects of the city as well as ensuring that the people of Kampala work in a secure environment.”
The special presidential assistant on skilling and education also doubling as head of the (PISGBC) Dr.Faith Mirembe Katana expressed optimism that the skilling project has met its set targets and urged more youth to enlist and acquire free skills capable of turning them into useful citizens of Uganda.
The Mulago Skilling Centre is one of the Centres spread in the five divisions of Kampala with Kawempe boasting of both Mulago and Wandegeya Centres respectively of which have sent out hundreds of youth into the workspaces.
