The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) held a special event to offer prayers for students preparing to take their final examinations across various levels from government schools in all five divisions of Kampala. This includes candidates from primary seven, senior four, and senior six. The gathering took place at the Lord Mayor’s Gardens.
During the ceremony, Erias Lukwago, the Lord Mayor, expressed his gratitude to teachers for their exceptional dedication in nurturing and preparing students.
He praised head teachers for their strong leadership in the face of socio-economic challenges and pledged to allocate more resources in the KCCA Budget to tackle the issues faced by both schools and educators.
While acknowledging the disappointing performance of some schools, Lukwago assured that a resolution would be implemented to reward the top three performers in the city at each level as a gesture of appreciation and motivation.
He extended his best wishes to all students for success in their upcoming exams.
The prayers were led by Rev. Fr. John Kibuuka Bbosa, Vicar General of the Uganda Orthodox Church, along with Anglican Chaplain Rev. Misuseera Mukadde’Ayigga and Imam Nsubuga Isaah, Head Teacher at Kibuli Demonstration School.
The event was attended by members of the City Executive Committee, the KCCA Executive Director, technical staff, and school heads, among others.
