The highly anticipated 13th edition of Miss Tourism Uganda has been officially launched, kicking off the search for the country’s next cultural ambassador. The announcement was made at the Uganda Media Centre, setting the stage for a nationwide competition celebrating Uganda’s rich heritage and tourism potential.
Under the theme “I Am My Culture,” this year’s pageant goes beyond beauty, focusing on cultural preservation and sustainable tourism. Organizers emphasize that the initiative plays a vital role in driving economic, social, and environmental change through cultural advocacy.
Speaking at the launch, Hon. Bahinduka Mugarra Martin, Minister of State for Wildlife and Antiquities, applauded the event’s impact. “This journey is more than a competition—it is a movement that amplifies Uganda’s cultural identity. We are committed to supporting such initiatives that promote tourism and conservation,” he remarked.
In a historic first, the 2025 edition will welcome male participants, expanding the platform to include young men passionate about conservation and tourism. “This is an opportunity for both young men and women to be ambassadors of change. We encourage all eligible Ugandans to take part,” the minister added.
The pageant will tour 12 regions across Uganda, including West Nile, Teso, Busoga, Buganda, Karamoja, Ankole, South Uganda, Fort Portal, Hoima, and Northern Uganda, in search of the next Miss Tourism Uganda Queen for 2025-2026.
The grand finale is set for September 5, 2025, at the Kampala Serena Hotel, where the ultimate winner will be crowned.
