The government has praised the significant contributions of the Makerere University Business School (MUBS) leadership for organizing and hosting the Central Region Career Teachers Workshop.
The initiative is designed to empower career teachers, ensuring they are equipped to navigate the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
The acknowledgment was made by Dr. Kedrace R. Turyagyenda, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Sports, during her keynote address at the workshop, which was facilitated by the MUBS principal’s office.
With the theme “Empowering Career Teachers for a Future-Ready Generation”, Dr. Turyagyenda highlighted the strategic importance and timely nature of the workshop, especially in light of ongoing technological advancements.
She also commended Prof. Moses Muhwezi, who has recently been confirmed as the full principal, for his leadership.
“Government fully appreciates and acknowledges the big role being played by MUBS under the stewardship of Prof.Moses Muhwezi with his team of dedicated men and women for choosing to invest in the effective career guidance training workshop in the teaching and learning process,” she noted.
“As career teachers , you play a key role ,serving as guides and mentors to thousands of young people, helping them envision and work towards futures that are not only promising but also aligned with their unique abilities and aspirations,” she added.
On his part, Prof. Muhwezi emphasized the importance of integrity among career teachers, encouraging them to exemplify excellence and actively share vital information with their students to enhance their future prospects.
He also called on both senior four and and senior six graduates to consider enrolling at MUBS for strategic courses that will significantly benefit their career paths.
