The NCBA Golf Series qualifiers brought excitement and fierce competition to the Entebbe Golf Club over the weekend, as golf enthusiasts from across Uganda gathered for a memorable showcase of talent and sportsmanship.
The event was a perfect blend of competitive spirit, community engagement, and networking opportunities, attracting both seasoned golfers and ambitious newcomers.
Mark Muyobo, CEO of NCBA Bank Uganda, said:” This has now become a prominent fixture on Uganda’s sporting calendar, because it has grown to become a premier event, known for promoting the love of golf while fostering connections within the business community.”

The 18-hole Entebbe Golf Course, famous for its beauty and challenging layout, provided the ideal stage for players to compete for coveted spots in the series’ grand finale in Nairobi at the Muthaiga Golf Club in November this year.
Mr. Muyobo noted that the series aligns with the bank’s mission to inspire greatness. “This series not only promotes golf but creates an exceptional platform for players to connect and network. We are thrilled to host these qualifiers at Entebbe Golf Club, which is renowned for its breathtaking views and challenging course,” he said.
Mr. Muyobo reiterated NCBA’s commitment to supporting golf and fostering greatness, emphasizing the bank’s belief in excellence both on and off the course. “Our unwavering support for this tournament comes from our belief in greatness, which inspires everything we do. We encourage all participants to continue pursuing excellence as we move through this exciting series,” he added.
The NCBA Golf Series is known for its inclusivity, welcoming golfers of all skill levels to participate. Whether amateur or professional, players have the opportunity to test their abilities in a competitive yet friendly environment.
Winners from this weekend’s qualifiers (Anselm Olweny – Men and Berna Musanabera – Women) secured places in the grand finale, set to take place later this year at the renowned Muthaiga Golf Club in Nairobi, Kenya. These two will be joined by the winners from initial 2 legs held at Uganda Golf Club on 8th June 2024 (Emmanuel Wamala – Men and Eva Lwanga – Women); and winners from the Jinja Golf Club event in August 2024 (Brian Omeda – Men and Lillian Koowe – Women). All the 6 champions an all-expenses paid trip to the grand finale in Kenya in December, 2024.

The grand finale will see winners from various qualifying events in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda come together along with the overall junior champions from other NCBA Golf Series qualifier tournaments to compete for bragging rights and the grand prize.
In its fourth edition since launching in 2021, the NCBA Golf Series has cemented its status as one of East Africa’s premier golfing events. Beyond the competition, it is celebrated for cultivating strong business relationships and fostering connections among participants and spectators alike.
