The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Abas Byakagaba, has launched a comprehensive physical fitness program for the entire police force countrywide.
This program is designed to improve the officers’ overall health and reduce the likelihood of chronic illnesses.
Officially kicked off on October 30, 2024, at the Police Headquarters in Naguru, the program will be held on a regular basis at various police stations.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police, James Ocaya, along with various directors and department heads, took part in the inaugural exercise, demonstrating a strong commitment to leading by example for their colleagues.
Improved muscle strength, flexibility, and endurance can help prevent sprains, strains, and other common injuries faced by law enforcement personnel.
Physical fitness has a significant impact on mental health. Exercise releases endorphins, which improve mood, reduce stress, and promote a sense of well-being.
