Police officers from Mwizi Police Station, aided by a canine companion, apprehended one Leticia Nabawanuka in relation to the murder of Nyakwezi Grace in Rwampara District.

The grim discovery of a woman’s body in a banana plantation by children on November 4, 2024, triggered police action.

At the crime scene, investigators found crucial evidence, including a pool of blood and indications of dragging.

The Sniffer dog called Hector played a key role in leading authorities to a locked residence belonging to the deceased’s co-wife.

Upon her arrest, Nabawanuka admitted her involvement, and blood-stained clothing was recovered from the location where she was taken into custody.

Police stress the critical need to maintain the integrity of crime scenes to ensure thorough investigations.
