Mansur Ssemanda, known as Kabaka or King Saha, took to his official X handle to express his excitement, stating, “We are good to go,” shortly after receiving security clearance for his upcoming concert.
Scheduled for January 24, 2025, at the Lugogo Cricket Oval, this highly anticipated event is being organized by Benon Galabuzi of Umoja Management.
Initially, concerns arose when police spokesperson Rusoke Kituuma announced that the concert was temporarily cancelled due to potential structural issues at the venue that could pose risks to public safety.
King Saha, is celebrated for hits like Ebiseera, Nakyakala, Signal, Mukama Yamba, Hullo Hullo, and Akamwanyi Kaliwo among others.
However, following a productive meeting with event management and the resolution of safety concerns, security officials have now given the green light for the concert to proceed as planned.
A statement from the police on Friday (January 24, 2025) confirmed that a collaborative meeting took place among security teams, event organizers, and venue managers to ensure all safety measures are in place.
“Today, a joint security team, along with the event organizers and venue managers, met at the Cricket Oval to re-evaluate how the event can proceed while adhering to previously recommended safety measures,” the statement reads.
“Following this meeting, it has been decided that the event will take place as scheduled,” the statement further reads.
Security restricted limited access to the pavilion due to worries about its structural stability. Kituuma stated that officials have classified the area as unsafe and possibly dangerous for visitors.
By 4:00pm, hundreds of fans were already making their way into the venue.
