On November 20, 2024, at 4:00am, police in Nasana executed a well-planned operation in Kyebando village aimed at dismantling a notorious gang known for wielding pangas and instilling fear in Kampala and its neighboring areas.

The operation was initiated based on credible intelligence, resulting in the capture of Kakeeto Imran. The Kampala Metropolitan spokesperson, Patrick Onyango said during questioning, he disclosed the names of additional gang members, leading to the apprehension of five others including a 23-year-old Emable Manaishimwe; 20-year-old Aaron Nyweza; 24-year-old Mike Muyingo; 18-year-old Godfrey Agaba; 17-year-old chapati maker Imran Kakeeto, along with a 17-year-old John Mutebi.

All suspects are residents of Kyebando Kabulengwa.

Police recovered two motorcycles registration numbers UGG 375G and UFC 613N, and six mobile phones during the operation.

The suspects admitted to targeting individuals with valuables, using various motorcycles, and employing pangas, hammers, and other tools for their crimes.

According to investigations, their most recent attack occurred in Bukuya, Kasanda District, where they robbed and assaulted victims with pangas.

He said police are actively pursuing further investigations to capture and prosecute additional accomplices, including the main suspect, Sserugo, who is still on the run.
