Senior four candidates across the country start writing their final examinations today.
According to the Uganda National Examinations Board , a total of 379,620 candidates are writing their examinations.
Students start with the Chemistry practical examinations.
Students will be examined under both the new and old curriculum.
A total of 1,320,400 candidates registered to sit the 2024 exams, marking a 7.8% increase compared to 2023. Of this number, 379,620 candidates are registered for the UCE exams, while 798,763 will sit for the PLE. The UACE, which also shows an increase in candidates, will see 142,017 students sit for the exams this year.
This year, exams will run under the theme “Embracing security and holistic assessment of learners in a dynamic environment.”
Dr. Col Kizza Besigye is among prominent Ugandans who have sent best wishes to candidates.
Via his X account last night, Besigye said “Sending best wishes for great SUCCESS to all candidates who’re starting their UNEB Exams!”.
