The entertainment world is reeling from the shocking news of Nicholas Mpairwe, widely recognized as Messe Bontwe, who has passed away unexpectedly.
Bontwe was a beloved comedian and a co-founder of the former Amalula Family Comedy Group, together with with Amooti Omubalanguzi and the late Paddy Bitama.
He will be remembered for his significant impact on the comedy industry.
In addition to his comedy career, he was a popular radio presenter at Dembe FM and recording artist.
Reports indicate that he died in the United States, where he had moved in search of better opportunities.
While initial accounts suggest a heart attack as the cause of death, more information is still pending.
The news was also confirmed by Grace Sekamatte former artiste of the Eagles Production Band who also lives in the US.
Balam Barugahare, the State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, expressed his sorrow for the loss of his friend in a post on his official X account, formerly known as Twitter.
“RIP DJ Messe (Nicholas Mpairwe) My heart is heavy with the loss of my dear friend and former Amarula Family founding director, who passed away in Texas, USA. DJ Messe, a proud son of Kaiho, Rwensinga Parish, Rwampara District, will be deeply missed. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” he noted.
