Police in Kakumiro district on December 08, 2024, seized a Toyota Super Custom vehicle, registration number UBD 356B, which was suspected of transporting stolen cattle.
The vehicle was apprehended on Hoima Road, between Kakindu and Kihuna, following a tip-off from a local resident.
The individuals inside the vehicle fled the scene, abandoning three cows, one of which was deceased.
According to Julius Allan Hakiza, the police spokesperson for the Albertine Region, a document found within the vehicle showed that the cows were originally from Kasangati in Wakiso.
However, initial investigations indicate that the cattle were actually stolen from Butema sub-county in Hoima district.
